PHOTOCHROMIC

Whether you are out in the sun or indoors, photochromic lenses create optimal visual comfort by brightening inside and darkening outside as brightness increases..

Who are Drive lenses suitable for?

Photochromic lenses continuously adjust to varying lighting conditions.
The photochromic molecules on the lens surface react to changes in light, i.e. to UV light by darkening the lens. If the level of brightness decreases, the molecules adapt the other way and brighten up the lens.
These lenses are available in two versions: Transitions® Signature™ and Transitions® XTRActive™.
The later is suitable for drivers, in particular, as they do not only react to UV rays, but also to short-wave visible light, which allows the degree of tint to change even behind the windshield.

Visual protection and selection of colours

The high-performance photochromic lenses reliably protect your eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays, regardless of the tint. The Transitions® Signature™ lenses also absorb two times more blue light than conventional white lenses, while the Transitions® XTRActive™ lenses absorb an impressive three times more blue light.

Leica Eyecare’s photochromic lenses come in three different tints: grey, green and brown for Transitions® Signature™ and grey and brown for Transitions® XTRActive™.
